India’s First 100 MLD (Million Liters per Day) Desalination Plant
- Location - In Dahej, Bharuch, Gujarat
- It is set up by Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC)
- Built with 881 Cr investment
- Construction work was accomplished by Larsen & Toubro and Tecton
- Plant can desalinate 100 million liters of water per day. Plant will function with Reverse Osmosis. 20 Acre of settling pond is also created so that thick particles could settle down before it is treated in plant
- Currently 454 MLD water is sourced from Narmada river for industrial and other purposes, out of which Of which 200 MLD is used by industries.
- The move will save Narmada water from industrial use
