2-DG will be sold at Rs 990 per sachet by Dr Reddy's Laboratories (DRL)
- 2DG is a glucose based drug which is jointly developed by DRDO and Dr Reddy's Lab. The drug was approved by government earlier this month for emergency use.
- It is currently being produced by Dr. Reddy's Laboratory.
- The drug was found effective in curtailing the spread of disease in patient and helps in reduced external oxygen dependency in the test conducted.
- The company will provide the medicine to Centre and state government at a discounted price. 2-DG will be sold at Rs 990 per sachet.
Apollo hospitals confirmed rolling out Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" at Rs 1,195 per dose.
- The authority confirmed that the hospital chain would rollout the vaccine across its hospitals in India from June second week at an estimated price of Rs 1,195 per dose.
- Price distribution - Rs 995 for the vaccine and Rs 200 would be administration charges.
- According to reports, the vaccine will be prioritized for health workers, corporate employees and potentially risky people.
Kerala’s to launch Smart Kitchen Scheme
- The State Government of Kerala under Pinarayi Vijayan launched smart kitchen scheme by 10th June 2021
- The step taken to reduce workload from women in household while working in kitchen.
- Under this scheme government will give loan to refurbish the kitchen and make it smart at low interest rate.
2021 Princess of Asturias Award given to Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen.
- Princess of Asturias Award is Spain's top award and is organized annully. The award is given by the Princess of Asturias Foundation in Spain to individuals, entities or organizations from around the world who make notable achievements in the sciences, humanities, and public affairs
- Amartya Sen got the award in social sciences category.
- The award comprises a cash prize of 50,000 Euros along with a Joan Miro sculpture.

- India is ranked 94 out of 107 nations in the Global Hunger Index 2020.
SeHAT OPD portal lauched by government
- Full form - ‘Services e-Health Assistance & Tele-consultation (SeHAT)
- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has launched the SeHAT OPD through video confrencing.
- The objective of this portal is to provide telemedicine services to the serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans and their families.
- The portel was under trial since 2020 August and finally rolled out now.
